After I graduated high school in Alabama I moved to New York. I lived here for three years before moving to La. I was 18-21 living in NYC and I am sure like so many girls at that age I was on a journey of finding myself. I remember feeling so small in a huge city where I didn’t know anyone. I was lonely and had allot of time to be alone with my thoughts and imagination. I lived on 92nd and Riverside and there was this market on 93 and Broadway that I would get my coffee at every morning. It was a cool market exactly like this, they are sprinkled all throughout the city. I would imagine the day that my husband or boyfriend would be picking flowers up for our apartment from the market and brining them home. Well that never happened in New york I was single the whole time but have always been a hopeless romantic. I actually ended up marrying Dave who lived in the Village the whole time I lived on the Upper West side. He swears he saw me on a train once but I think he is just trying to be romantic.
Chriselle and I have had little slots of time in between shows and meeting this week and of course we use that time to take pictures and explore as much as possible. We keep walking down to Union Square and loved the untouched snow and the way the light was falling in between those two buildings.
I am glad I moved to LA and its totally home but the one word I would use to describe New York is Romantic. I knew it when I was 18 and I know it now. There is a special way that this city touches you and changes you. I love this quote:
“One can’t paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt.”
This week has been about New York and fashion shows! Earlier this day we attended Tommy Hilfiger show and I was inspired to be a little preppy. So I through on this stripped button down & fitted jacket from Finders Keepers. Staying true to my effortless style which comes organically because I am a photographer and every day I have to be dressed comfortable enough to move around and shoot so I threw on these Topshop Jeans. The boots from Zara are super comfortable along with the Zara black jacket I draped for warmth and ended up loving the layers. Of course I topped of the outfit with a hat. This Preston & Olivia hat is my favorite.
